Songwriting from Sessions 178-186
It's amazing how I think the average length of these session is about 45-1 hr. Maybe one with 1:45.
But what's amazing is the time it takes to write the notation. An hour for 4 seconds or 8 seconds or 16 seconds.
Precisely because of the notation lengths that require precision (such as when or if a measure bleeds into another, or..):
- Whole
- Quarter
- Eighth
- Sixteenth
- Thiry-Second
- Dotted
The variation of lengths of notation other than the above list, by allowing ... "personality".
- Staccato
- Sustain
- Ghost
- Let Ring
- Palm Mute
The length of Time Signatures mixing up a combination of:
With the tempo fluctuating between slow and faster:
If two arrangements having a mix of rhythm and lead then
- the mixing is a nightmare of balancing volumes making sure the rhythm doesn't override the lead
- the lead can be heard over the rhythm or the rhythm has enough bass and the lead has enough crunch or clean or distortion.
- It's all a varying mix.
